In its monthly Sports Showcase auction, Heritage Auctions is offering the camouflage jersey Fernando Tatis Jr. wore the day he played the first four-hit game of his professional career as a San Diego Padres athlete.
The event was immortalized on the next day’s Topps Now card.
The jersey was worn during his rookie season in 2019; the jersey bears MLB Authentication and is paired with the photo from the game played against the Atlanta Braves. The jersey is expected to fetch at least $20,000 when bidding concludes in the middle of this month.
The auction features more than 500 lots, with most of the sports cards. It is dominated by the 1997 Kobe Bryant Skybox E-X Skybox rookie card from 1997 graded PSA 10. It has an estimated price of more than $60,000.
Other notable cards include the complete 1987-87 Fleer Basketball series and Michael Jordan rookie cards, a 1987-88 Fleer Basketball wax box, the 1997-58 Bowman Bill Russell rookie card, as well as Bowman Chrome Tom Brady rookie cards (each graded PSA 10) and PSA 10 samples of the 1991 Topps Desert Shield and 1993 Ken Griffey Jr. Topps Finest cards.
Jordan signed several pieces, including a “2009 “Hall of Fame Edition” Upper Deck Authenticated jersey, whose serial number is Jordan’s number 23. Baseball Hall of Famer Lee Smith’s 1995 All-Star Game jersey is also one of the items available in the auction.
